Folquébec Association
Our mission
Folquébec is a non-profit organization registered in Quebec, dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of folk music produced in Quebec.
The association brings together individuals and organizations from the folk, traditional, and world music sectors—including artists, producers, managers, agents, record labels, and distributors—all committed to the development and outreach of these musical practices.
Its primary mission is to showcase the diversity, quality, and richness of Quebec’s folk, traditional, and world music on international stages. Folquébec’s activities are open to all professionals working within the folk music community in Quebec.

To develop
To stimulate the production, marketing, distribution and performances of folk artists at national and international levels
To represent
To speak out on behalf of the folk music community by representing their concerns and interests to the public and to government
To inform
To inform our members of developments that could affect the folk industry in Québec
To promote
To establish and enhance the connection with the international folk music community through participation at conferences and festivals
To coordinate
To ensure communication via our online tools
Our Strategies
To achieve our goal, Folquébec undertakes the following activities :
Ongoing networking and development of a strong, collaborative provincial folk community
Participation and representation at regional, national and international conferences of importance
To increase recognition of Québec folk music and dance outside of the province
Conception, production of and accessibility to promotional tools that help maximize recognition of Québec folk artists
